We’re entering a new era of shopping for fashion, and everybody in our industry is talking about it.

Second-hand, vintage, consignment & reselling (as a whole) is growing 3x faster than new retail (outpacing it significantly).

So much so that big brands are trying to find their way into our market.

JCrew just opened a vintage JCrew store in Boston. Guess created “Guess Again” and is buying back their old pieces to resell. Express & Bebe teamed up to recreate their classic vibes from the early 2000’s. The list goes on.

They realize a huge sector of their customers no longer want to support the overproduction of cheap clothing that will never find its way into a vintage store in the future (it just won’t last).

Instead, consumers are turning to preloved items for the value, sustainability, and the hunt for unique pieces.

For each individual, this means turning away from dressing like the herd and stepping into the world in a way that supports their fully authentic self.

It’s a movement and we’re excited to be here for it!

Annie, our model for this shoot, is a poster child for authenticity when it comes to her style. She exudes everything that this new wave is about.

“When people compliment what I’m wearing while I’m bartending, I love being able to send them to a local business that’s right down the street who values community the same way I do. Fishtoes always has something that I know will help me have more fun with my clothes and wear more color. Their dedication to sustainabity is something I’m proud to support.” – Annie
